Professor Dr Abdul Rahim is the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) since June 2022. He is the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) and Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). He is also the former Independent Director of Etiqa General Takaful Berhad and Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of East London, a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Management Sciences, and a PhD in Accounting in Islamic Institutions from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom.

Currently, Dr Abdul Rahim is a member of the Board of Directors of Pusat Pungutan Zakat, Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan. He is also the President of the International Council of Islamic Finance Educators (ICIFE) for the 2021 – 2023 appointment. He is actively involved in teaching, research, and consultancy on Islamic Finance, Islamic Accounting, Ethics and Governance, and Shariah Audit. He has published 3 books, and more than 40 papers in academic journals and chapters in books.
